Slowly Sinking In...

Today while on facebook, I came across a status updates from one of my friends who just received her mission call (she's going to Berlin! How awesome is that!). Well turns out she leaves on the 6th of February. That's when it sunk in...In just a few short months I will be on a mission, serving the Lord, at just about any place in the world.
That's such a CRAZY thought! I've always been one of those people who get super excited about things really easily (I can blame my mom for this wonderful attribute) so it suddenly made me think "Wow, in two or three months I COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!" I'm also a big planner so this thought freaked me out a bit, not knowing where I'll be in a few months and all. I cannot express my excitement though. I can honestly say that I'll be happy to serve anywhere I'm needed:) In just a few short days my mission papers will officially sent in and then I get to play the waiting game (Impatience is another great attribute I've so fortunately inherited from my mother)!!!
While I was reading my scriptures last night I read in D&C 115 and my favorite scripture of ALL TIME is verse 5. "Arise and shine forth that thy light may be a standard for the nations."I've always loved that scripture because it reminds me that I am so blessed to have the gospel in my life and it helps me remember that my standards should be high. I shouldn't allow myself to settle for something easier rather than what I know is the right thing to do. I know it's going to be a trying 18 months but, I'm so excited to serve a mission and be able to spread the gospel:)
